With its white landscapes and snow-puppets, winter may be a very beautiful time of year. But there’s one thing missing: summer. Luckily there’s the Magic Island label to keep you warm. This time, headmaster of the Balearic chill movement, Roger Shah, turns cold snow to white sand and warm, fuzzy feelings.

This EP doesn't only have the summer soul, but also a variety of influences. ‘Eden’ is the promising team-up of Dutch DJ and producer Leon Bolier, a must-see name known of hits ‘Poseidon’, ‘No Need To Come Back’and ‘Back In Time’. Together, the set forth a combination of all the right clicks, bits, pieces and sounds, coming together in the wonderful ‘Eden’. Representing both significant sounds, balanced out till the very last beat.

Ever open to new talent, Roger once again collaborated with a promising producer on his new single ‘Lay Down’. Ross Lara, hailing from the US, had the honour to share the production desk with him. With Todd Wright’s remarkable voice on top of happenings, the trio delivers a catchy, melodic piece that'll get stuck in your head for days!

The same goes for Johnny Yono's deep translation of ‘Lay Down’. His remix transforms the original to a progressive piece of bold bass and vocoded vocals - without ever losing its heartfelt atmosphere.

Chicago’s Tevo Howard has only been releasing music for a few years, but his embrace of his city’s classic sound, combined with his unusually musical touch, has him making waves in the deep house circuit. He lands his latest release on Ben Watt’s iconic (and eccentric) Buzzin’ Fly Records, working with vintage analogue equipment to give his deep, melodic house a gritty warmth.

“The track was written in honor of Ben Watt and Buzzin’ Fly”, says Howard. “I wanted this piece to be a dance-floor sweep, while expressing concrete theoretical musical phrasing and harmony.” “The Age of Compassion” does just that. The original mix is a beatless swirl of clean-lined arpeggios, offering plenty of possibilities for creative mixing; the “House Mix” reworks the contrapuntal themes over crisp drum machines, leaving plenty of breathing room.

It was Watt who came up with the ingenious selection of remixers. Ireland’s Donnacha Costello, founder of the acclaimed imprint Minimise, shows his techno roots with a taut interpretation with looping keys, dark, melodic bass, and a big kick.

Aera, aka Ralf Schmidt, and one of Beatportal’s Artists to Watch for 2011, brings a deeper, more downbeat vibe perfect for slower house sets, with elegant bells and a cool, loping groove.

A label that never disappoints, Buzzin’ Fly continues to push electronic music forward without losing sight of its roots. “The Age of Compassion” is a musical masterpiece with equal appeal on or off the dancefloor.

Slow jam U R closes the release in fine style with a slice of orchestral exotica perfectly crafted to takes its rightful place as the main theme in John Carpenters next Caribbean horror flick. Heres hoping the next album isnt too far away.

Our latest recruit Adrian Wojcik aka A.R.D.I. debuts with a beautiful melodic uplifting trancer entitled 'Landscape'. Lovely vocal samples intertwining here and there, blissful piano work and quite a highly energetic drop that just booms with energy. What more can be needed in a trance tune?!

On remix duties we have Timo Pralle joining three Harmonic Breeze favorites, Second Way, Vol Deeman and Sara Pollino sealing the deal on this package. Second Way translate the original into their own club orientated progressive style while keeping the melodic essence of the tune. Timo Pralle slows things down a bit with his 'soft-lifting' take. While label favorite Vol Deeman delivers a truly banging and phenomenal remix as usual. Last but not least, the diva of chillout comes along taking things on a whole other level, something more than perfect for relaxing your senses.

How do you define an artist who has never performed live, nor DJ’ed, nor ever had his photograph published and has never partaken in an interview? By the music of course. Jürgen Paape has proven this time and time again. How? Listen. Hear. Right now his “Kompilation”. The whole album is just fantastic, with various ambiances. Certainly one of the best album of the year, an ode to the electronic music. It has been a long time I never heard such a good music. "Kompilation" has been released on 17 December as CD version and shall be released on January 10th, 2011 digitally.

Holmby Hills. We have waited long time for this! This year their remix of Hatikvah's "Synchronicity" on Baalsaal Recordings entered the US chartlist of Velizar and was dropped by Agoria on his "Balance" Compilation. Now their first debut single will be out on FormResonance! The twelve inch (and digital) release comes with the diversity FormResonance stands for: a non-standard club music.

Holmby Hills' two smooth'n'ruff House tracks and two Hip Hop-Jazz encores turn this record into a testimony for the state of mind of FormResonance. When Soul is melted together into an off the grid House track, it is not that far-fetched that both men have shared their music ever since tapes existed.

Engin Oeztuerk, one half of Here Today, which came out on Philpot and Buzzin Fly and Block Barley (who already has released two albums on Hong Kong Records and We ain't Music) are both tinkering in search of music to dance to. It's been an amazing end to the year for Maya Jane Coles, she hit the dizzy heights of chart success (voted No1 charted track on RA for the month of Oct) with her '92 feel-good house track 'What They Say' which could easily be mistaken for an early MK/ Nightcrawlers record. We're very proud to welcome Maya into the Hypercolour family, and we lead with the 'Humming Bird' EP, which as far as we are concerned is a great end to an also great year for Hypercolour.

Picking up where she left off, 'Humming Bird' once again utilises that classic house feel for which Maya is becoming well know for, non-surprisingly a harmonic 'hum' weaves over and above Maya's organic bass and drums. This is grade A deep house and will be sure to please all those who played and loved 'What The Say'.

She's no one trick pony, and anyone familiar with her alternative projects will know she has immense talent. Next up we air 'Nobody Else', blissed out electronica with none other than Maya herself featuring on vocals, her catchy vox makes you feel like you could easily be at the helm of the Bristol scene in the mid 90's, smoking a reefer and listening to the likes of Portishead or Massive Attack, clearly a big influence on Maya's sound.

'Lookin' Out' continues the drive forward for the dancefloor, an incessant vocal carries a groove, pushed along by Maya's trademark bass heavy approach throughout, which rolls with the flow, into percussive breaks. This is yet another example of Maya's grooves, strictly intended for the floor. 

Once again Maya's alluring vocal reaches out in 'You', her voice is both delicate and dazzling here, sitting on top of a low-slung, dub house groove, ska style bass and ragga stabs echo throughout. This is a totally refreshing strand of 'House' and wipes the floor with the swarm of generic music out there at this present time.

Finally, 'Contradiction' just had to go on the package, and too our absolute amazement this track is nearly 5 years old!! it has just been sat there  taking up space on Maya's hard drive it may have the percussive house tag, but trying to place where you will hear it? could be anywhere from the Balearics to a back street sweat pit in the outskirts of Whitby. 

Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Biosphere, are a few of the Masters in the history of electronic music. They were the first ones to experiment with modular synthesizers in the 70's: Monstrous instruments that could easily come from a sci-fi/horror flick. Today, 40 years later, thanks to these genius inspiration, hypnotized by their work and totally immersed in their atmospheres, Pablo collects his best atmospheric works produced between 2000 and 2010 in one album.

"Motion" is a record full of aqueous movement. An internal dance to please your soul. An exquisite selection of 9 tracks that will take you on a space trip with moments full of brightness as in "Is it the last call?", or melancholy as in "Recuerdos de otra edad". We continue the adventures of TJ Kong & Nuno dos Santos in the world of twisted emotional deep electronic music. Their recent album After Dark, My Sweet (CD released June 2010 on Compost), empowered their names and reputation across the globe.

You might also recognize the voice of the Canadian hip hop poet Jemini in the spoken words of "Once Upon A Rhyme". She gave thousands of DJs a knock on the head with Nick Holder's No More Dating DJs. Melon, who has managed to gain residencies and regular bookings at some of the worlds finest clubs purely by being great at spinning records, such as Fabric, Robert Johnson or Panorama Bar, adopted the track and created a highly addictive cool club mix. Downtown Party Network is a duo from Lithuania. One half of the project is DJ Saulty, the second being an experienced music producer Bradka. They had releases e.g. on Eskimo, where they made the first steps into the nu-disco circus. They deliver here a fine deep discoish version of This Time feat. Spunk from Marbert Rocel, perfect listening pearl for the cold season.

Ludovic Llorca (a.k.a. Art Of Tones) is well known from his output on labels such as 2020 Vision, Laurent Garnier's F Communications (3Eps and the LP Newcomer), Freerange, SSOH and others. With his remix for Birthday feat. Nicolette, he finds the perfectly fitting groove for Nicolette's beautiful voice and makes it to a jazzy soulful house nugget, a true pleasure!

Last but not least, we got Rob Smith on the boat, from electronic music lovers surely treasured trip hop / down beat / drum n bass masterminds Smith & Mighty. We re proud to have Rob shown here his interpretation of The Quiet Room, which turned out as a atmospheric dubby breakbeat number with a eerie touch, definitely tells its own story of a quiet room...

The Dutch duo KuhlmannMensink has been making waves in the Dutch clubscene for several years now with their mindblowing live act, revolving around selfmade controllers for maximum freestyling. Strangely enough this will be their first release ever. But what a debut this is.

The sound they present on this EP is highly unique and off the beaten track. Removed far away from standard house and techno, this is glitchy freestyle electronics for the body and the mind. The jazz inspired hooks are easy for the ears and the odd yet extremely funky drumprogramming will get any wallflower to the floor.Our good friend and artist extraordinaire Till Rohmann a.k.a. Glitterbug was the ideal candidate to remix these special tunes. And he did an absolutely amazing job.

The Passing Landscapes Mix with its haunting organ chords and constant tension, wich never really comes to a climax, is a setbuilder for anyone who wants to go a bit leftfield during their gigs. But the biggest stunner is The Long Winter Shadows Mix. A five minute beautiful and moody ambient masterpiece like we seldom heard before. His tearjerking interpretation of AD 14.1 is without a doubt one of the tunes of the year we here at Wolfskuil HQ.

Livingroom Techno is featuring Connaisseur's deepest shades of Techno and is the perfect sound for those who like to celebrate at home, in the livingroom or just need the prefect music for the candle light dinner. Introducing Jos Lieferink, amateur astronomer and electronic musician from The Hague. Since the mid 1970s Phochos has been dabbling with organs and synthesizers, releasing an incredible number of CDs and tapes on his own Orion records label. Phochos has long been a treasured secret, hidden from the general public in a maze of porch housing. Secretely admired by the West Coast cognoscenti, who finally decided to share him with the world, 'cause music, like, wants to be free, you know! Interface Phrase 1 is a deep Dutch techno banger, very much in the style of old Ross 154. Glaciers is a classic ambient Phochos track from the early 2000's. Released on limited edtion icy cold clear vinyl.
