Denmark's Jatoma come a long way In their first year as an act. Tomas Barfod of WhoMadeWho and Tomboy fame together with Mads Kolding and Jakob Littauer from Electrojuice on an icy winter's day to see what they could come up with, prompting them to record the session… their remarkable creativity and lack of cohesion for genre was a match made in heaven, immediately picked up and adored by KOMPAKT's Michael Mayer. Motivated, they immediately went on to record their self titled debut which has gone on to be proclaimed by the likes of URB as "this stellar debut by some of music's most inventive newcomers" The album opener and fan favorite "Little Houseboat" stands out as a truly vital balance between the experimentation and melody that Jatoma have so succeeded in accomplishing.

It's only fair that their local pals and one of dance music's most talked about newcomers Kenton Slash Demon should wrap a wondrous tribal beat around the gorgeous fluency of the original harmonies. The techno elite will know of the now mythical act Pom Pom who have released some of the past decade's most profound and confounding drivers that we have had the pleasure to enjoy here at Kompakt. It's with great honor that Pom Pom do it's own interpretation - creating an unstoppable force in techno mayhem. Lucky Dragons from Los Angeles have been abuzz the blogs and come together with a psychedelic sea of sonic bliss that eventually congeals into a throbbing campfire beat.

A bonus version of "Dust In Wong" appears on this 12", done none other than by the one who inspired the track Dustin Wong! It makes sense why they are so inspired by this young producer as the version is utterly flooring. Then as the beats organically start to grow you realize it's all going to hit home and with no messing. "Love songs" dynamics are what makes it a top peak time killer that is already being thrashed by the big boys.

"Prism" intros with a sweet bleepy lick that instantly catches your interest. The bleeps are followed by a very skippy funky flowing backbone of percussive elements and a serious rolling bassline that keep you on your toes. Once again the boys show their ability to involve different shades of sound in this little gem and make sure the girls are also happy on the dancefloor.

Rattlesnake says it all in the title. A nice slippy number with a hell of a bite to boot. It's hypnotic riffs evolve throughout leaving a feeling of good old school vibes mixed with updated minimal twists. Heavily soaked in old school vibes, while plugged right into contemporary developments in the underground House music scene, Hotel Motel make excellent Home Tapers! For their first release on the imprint they work an absolutely killer House groove around a raw old school sample to produce the totally wicked 'Eye No'. 

This cut has classic grooves written all over it. Simple, but 100% effective. It defines exactly what Home Taping is all about. On the flip, the Burnt Island Casuals (aka The Revenge and legendary Sub Club resident DJ Harri) throw all of their joint experience and love of House music at the original, bounce it off the studio walls and rework it into a warehouse bomb that will have you licking the walls for more. 100% House music with bits. Be As One is proud to welcome a new artist to the imprint family "Vozmediano", a fresh Spanish wonder, delivers two house-meets-techno cuts that are likely to stand the test of time. On the remix side, BAO are delighted to add a special treat, a superb remix by Detroit Techno legend Rolando.

On the A-side “Ritual De Fe” is a house march with an etnic touch, where over rolling techno beats are layered sounds and instruments straight out of indigenous tribe, bells, tools, and chants bring a powerful energy on the floor.

Rolando masterfully remixes the B-side track “There’s A Light” and delivers the perfect techno tune, one likely to be found in the most various record boxes all acroass board. Closing track, “There’s A Light” has a blissfull feel all along. A track for those moments where the mind needs to wander on the floor, its mellow and hypnotizing melody over a smooth groove will make also this tune a favourite between the most various players.

Offering a remix which is already now a bright star supported by house masters like Little Louie Vega is a miracle to be true! Another anonymous high priest of the Secret New House World Order, an organisation rumored to clandestinely control and reign supreme dancefloors worldwide, steps up on their Story (SecreT Order Rocks You) label with 3 captivating basic, raw yet deep tracks in the best Chicago tradition - a style that over the years proofed itself rather useful for total mind and body dominance.

“Feel About” perfectly exposes the simple, always effective ingredients for arresting punters on the floor: a basic jacking beat somewhere around the magical 120bpm range, a almost sedative walking bassline, swinging organ chords and vocal snippets that command your butt to shake, a subtle synth wave that will seep into your mind and clear it of all wordly thoughts and then after a while wild swirling hi-hats that will send you in uncontrolable convulsions.

“Gute Aussichten” on the flip takes over from there with a harder punching groove and a slightly eerie atmosphere before a warm shower of synth chords hits the euphoria switch in your subconscious while the skippy stuttering groove of “Return” will have dancers will-lessly twitching like electric eels. resistance is futile, just give yourself up to the groove!

Australian producer Robsounds returns on Manual Music with a brand new four track EP, the follow up of the hugely successful Scarlett EP which was one of the most played tunes by Sasha last year! So it seems like the pressure is on with this one, but we're not worried, because Robsounds doesn't dissapoint and lives up to high expectations, dropping four tracks packed with nice warm layers of melodies and chords, tight percussion and solid beats. Ultradope syndrome was a legendary studio in Mitte, Berlin. It was where friends from all across the world had chance meetings that became new forces. It was where you could show up, just about anytime and you could pass hours of your time and actually have something to show for all the clowning around!

TS63 "Collobs" is an example of this stoned clowning turned around-UDS has since been demolished in favor of yet another Berlin hotel, and with the demolition we found 4 bombs just dying to find their way to wax.

Drumcode’s newest EP, entitled The Napoli Connection, showcase’s some of the city’s finest techno exports in Rino Cerrone, Markantonio, Joseph Capriati, Sasha Carassi and Luigi Madonna.

Kicking off the EP are two of the southern Italian city’s lynchpins, Rino Cerrone and Mark Antonio. Both producer/djs are regarded as godfathers of the scene and it’s not inaccurate to say that their stewardship of the scene in Naples is what has put it on the techno map. Their contribution, ‘Junction Hands’, is a simple filter-driven cut which relies on little more than a paired down percussion set and fluid arrangement to do utmost damage.

Drumcode regular Joseph Capriati follows with ‘Vesuvio’, a track which takes both its name and temperament from Naples infamous volcano which overlooks the young producer’s studio. Uncompromising and relentless, ‘Vesuvio’ gives fast insight into why the likes of Dave Clarke and Beyer have been so vocal about Capriati’s talents.

Sasha Carrassi, having laid down his ‘Hypercombo EP’ for Drumcode late last year, returns with the heavily percussive ‘Drumline’. Rattling toms, layered snares and shifting rides combine with a superbly judged shuffle to create a track as swinging as it is heavy.

Luigi Madonna, having developed a solild reputation via releases for Cerrone’s Loose imprint, turns in the searing, mood onslaught of ‘7 Swords’ to close yet another package of distinctly Drumcode floorkillers.

What´s that coming over the hill?! It´s Moenster back on the floor after their latest releases on MusicisMusic and Microtonal. The record´s name is even program: two beautiful hypnotic tunes getting remixed by Robag Wruhme (Freude am Tanzen, Musik Krause, Vakant, Movida) and Sascha Braemer (Supdub, Stil vor Talent, Shaker Plates).

Taken from the surprise album of the year “Same Monkeys, Different Zoo” released in summer 2010 on Moodmusic, we have the standout vocal track “Speak Your Mind“, with its huge remix package.

Starting with the original 12-inch mix, this reminds of Lil Louis alá 1987 with smooth syncopated drums and the chord progression from heaven (piano played by Roman from Connaisseur Recordings act Plasmic) accompanied with the deep vocal delivery of John Muder.

Axel Boman needs no introduction, being hotly tipped as new comer of the year 2010 his released on Pampa and Ourvision has ruled the charts and the remix will head straight to the same territory. Slightly reminiscent of early Itiswhatitis released his chugging delivery rocks all the rights spots ! Also an instrumental is included for the vocal shy djs among us.

Jef K from Paris, known for his mega hit “In My System” and partner in crime Gwen Mace took another stop at the Chicago junction and jacked “Speak Your Mind” to a dubby affair, spreading the vocals in waves of echo and slamming bass to full effect !

As a bonus we have the Kitty Ballroom Remix from Jef K and a young Parisian producer called Valentin – hot deepness indeed, we can ́t wait to hear from music from this team !
