Makcim & Managemend - Fur Cage (REMOTE028)

For Remote Areas 28th release we welcome back production duo Makcim & Managemend

They are back again with two quality tunes for the dancefloor:   Fur Cage presents the deeper, funkier side of techhouse life with its rich, dark chocolate vocal snippets melted across a belching bass.

Fraggle Stick Car high hats peak on top of warm percussive expressions to create a rolling dance rhythm packed with warped sounds and distorted snippets.

Art Department - Vampire Nightclub / Without You (CRM064)

Once in a while a record causes such a wave of excitement, it brings new vitality to dancefloors and generates fresh enthusiasm for the underground scene. Without You is one such record, brought to life by the great talents of Art Department, a duo causing deep tremors due to their pioneering use of quivering bass, haunting vocals and fiery kickdrums.

The A side features the vocals of techno's wonderchild, Seth Troxler, as well as Kenny Glasgow (one half of Art Department), his voice a major element of what makes their records so special. Vampire Night Club layers the duos trademark synth sounds with an eerie and skin-pinching atmosphere. A truly mesmerizing record that gives the perfect introduction to the Art Dept sound on Crosstown Rebels, pre-empting their debut full length album on the label next year. The double A and title track Without You combines that unforgettable seductive bassline with a lingering vocal call. This record could have been made in the future as much as the past, its simplicity and depth the key to its appeal. Calls for its release have been heard for months and now have been answered with an extended 12 mix.

Art Department is the brainchild of Canadian duo Jonny White and Kenny Glasgow. With musical credentials dating back two decades, together they have constructed their own take on contemporary house music that has caught the attention of some of the leading figures of the current movement. With an album slated on Crosstown Rebels next year, this single is the first in a long line of raw futuristic bullets destined to cause a storm with an international audience.

Moonpax vs. Snatt & Vix with Xspective Sense - Disco Terra (AVAD028)

Take a rough guess at what happens when three Israeli psy-trance producers team up with two Romanian sound-creators? Indeed, countless influences join forces and a mix of deep prog and high energy trance comes into being.

When Moonpax and Snatt & Vix have their creative hours in the studio, you never know what the outcome will be. Every production is a complete surprise. One genre doesn't suffice the open minds of these guys. Their first single 'Winter Of Love' was a sensitive trancer - the second release 'Replay Girl' a clear-cut prog-houser. Their latest release, 'Disco Terra', takes them into the tech-trance corner, another place they feel right at home.

If anyone knows how to handle tech-trance, it's Artento Divini. You'll find it no surprise that both his remix and the original 'Disco Terra' make the perfect peak-time fit for any 2 am floor.

John Digweed & Nick Muir - Satellite / Meteor Remixes (BED92R)

Now, just when you thought you could sit down for a rest, Satellite has received some superb heavy-duty treatment in the remix department from the highly exciting Maetrik, and a top notch big room makeover from Tronic main man, Christian Smith. Maetrik shows exactly why he’s such an exciting prospect with a stunning low-slung seriously heavy-duty groove that canít fail to impress. Originally from the USA and now relocated to Valencia Spain, Maetrik (aka Eric Estornel) is making incredible leaps and bounds, creating some of the most devastating and unique music right now with his unique blend of techno, house, funk, and electro. Maybe it’s down to his Cuban roots? Maybe it’s down to his desire to crush genre boundaries? Whatever the reason, John Digweed has made a smart creative call by letting him loose on Satellite! The big room vibes are most definitely flowing with Christian Smith’s remix of Satellite, as he weaves and winds together over ten minutes of epic genre blurring wonder. Mr Smith has been championing his essentially funky mix of house and techno for more than a decade now, creating a highly individual cauldron of chunky grooves with loads of energy. With his own Tronic label releasing some fine fare right now, its no wonder that he was feeling inspired to deliver this superb version of Satellite.

Between them, John Digweed and Nick Muir, producers of the finest electronic dance music, have been involved in many pivotal moments in the world of club music and have in many ways helped to define genres & push the boundaries further over the years. As with all their releases, Satellite / Meteor is a mission statement to show that they are not resting on past laurels but always developing their sound in an exciting direction. These remixes of Satellite only add fuel to the creative fire.
