The first original Drumcode material from Alan Fitzpatrick since his debut LP, “Shadows in The Dark”, takes the form of the six-track “Insurgent Series” EP.

From the brutal, distorted tones of opener ‘Tinitus’ Fitzpatrick uses the extended EP to it's fullest. The dub techno ‘Sub Dubbed’ marries harsh digital sounds with familiar dub aesthetics but sidesteps the Basic Channel model and delivers something which the producer has definitely made his own.

From the aggressively disorientating stabs of ‘Redline’ through to the sparse, rolling tech-funk of ‘Xenomorph’ and ‘En Salada’,

Fitzpatrick’s distinctly fever-dream feel runs throughout “Insurgent Series” and, paired with his superb approach to placing sounds in the mix, makes for compelling listening.

Even when losing the beats entirely, as in closer ‘Lost and Found’, Fitzpatrick uses dark pads and spikey shaker hits to offset the flowing melodic leads. These little touches really reach out and challenge, stopping any one mood from comfortably settling...

From the streets of Berlin, English born Mark Henning is reunited with Soma Quality Recordings after the critically acclaimed release of his debut album Jupiter Jive in the summer of 2008 to release EP Cupcakes. Having been picked as a nominee for DJ Mags Best of British Awards for Best Breakthrough Act 2009 it is clear Mark has broken out and is a key contributor to the underground scene all over Europe and beyond.

Cupcakes is a deep and grooving techno slab, keeping true to Mark’s style. With subtle and quirky synth stabs and a heavy bass line, the twisted melody and crisp hi-hat hits will be sure to work the crowd. With well respected DJ’s such as Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos and Loco Dice supporting and regularly playing Mark’s productions this tune is sure to keep the dance floor alive.

Tim Xavier and Camea, the American techno duo, give us their take on the masterful Cupcakes upping the tempo and adding an enchanting and tripped out picked guitar. This gives the track a tougher edge adding to the driving bass and groove of the original.

Up last is the dark and intriguing Last Night. Building through layers of bass and percussion, mark takes this track on a wander through rhythm. Everything works away behind a hovering synth, until a key change breaks and the synth starts to swell. Masterful and infectious use of the filter on this synth grabs the attention of anyone within earshot. This is one of those tracks where you turn and say what the fuck is that?!

The release of this EP and 2011 is certain to expose just how talented Mark really is.

The new three track techno bomb “Chromium EP” by the rising star SQL from the Netherland’s is out now on Form! The release that artist himself describes as a big mix of all the sounds he likes is already supported by such big artists as Matt Walsh, Laurent Garnier, LARiots, Brodinski, Tocadisco and others.

This EP starts with the tech-housy and sensual Chromium, then goes to minimal Bacterium and ends with a serious party beat Barcode.

The final installment of Spektre’s Recykled series features four reworks that have really taken their original tracks to the next level.

‘Incognito’ is the first one up and Alex D’Elia & Nihil Young of Frequenza fame add some mighty grooveness while retaining the hypnotic elements that made the original stand out.

Subfractal have taken on the remix of ‘Flux Aeterna’ and have mangled the main melody, effectively taking the whole track up a notch, and lacing it with their signature sound

Kyfu & Rosie Romero’s remix of ‘Memory Effect’ goes straight for the jugular, using fragments of the melody, but still keeping the vibe and keeping the intensity level high.

The final track of the pack is remixed by Reset Robot, and he has transformed ‘Descent’ into a clean chugger with precise percussion in the leading role, and paranoid vocals setting the mood.

Perc is back on Sleaze again after his huge remix of Audio Injection’s “Toggle” last month. This time it's a 2 track EP co-produced with friends from Toronto, Metalogic.

Jonas Kopp is on fire at the moment after his recent successful releases on Ostgut Ton, Stroboscopic Artefacts & Curle Recordings. Jonas’s remix is a perfect example of his top quality techno productions of late. Perc has also provided a ‘Power Of Tower’ mix to complete the release.

Discobelle’s new release from San Francisco’s Worthy is a percolating tech-house ass shaker infused with enough oomph to make you sweat until you’ve messed up your hair. An infectious vocal sample and an uncontainable bubbling vibe make this one peak hour jacking tech-house at its best.

Accompanying the original, we’ve got three great remixes to round out the package from Worthy, Harvard Bass, Renaissance Man and Femme En Fourrure.

First up, Harvard Bass gives a chunky, infectious bruiser that strikes a perfect balance between the deeper dancefloors and the uncontrollable, messier ones.

Then, architects-turned-house-music-innovators Renaissance Man turn Worthy’s track into a sparse and icy percussive techno journey, continuing to push house music to deeper, stranger places.

Finally and also from Helsinki, Femme En Fourrure choose to let things simmer a bit with a druggy pulse and some signature female vocals evoking Laura Palmer’s from Twin Peaks if she was making dance music.

A huge package to start off the new year! David Flores aka Audio Injection drops his 1st EP on Sleaze with 2 killer tracks. His deep, dark & powerful style was perfectly demonstrated with his excellent remixes of Hans Bouffmyhre & Morgan Tomas on Sleaze last year. David has been making waves in the global techno scene, with big releases & remixes on CLR, Electric Deluxe & Droid over the past year.

We welcome back Par Grindvik for the first remix. His ‘Head Version’ of Toggle reminds us of his amazing productions from a few years ago, when we first fell in love with his sound! Next up is our good friend Perc, who has been on fire of late with his ‘Antifunk / Purple’ release on CLR and recently provided a mix for the world famous Resident Advisor podcast! Label boss Hans Bouffmyhre rounds up the EP with his interpretation of Cant Believe. Look out for Hans’ debut artist album on Harthouse later this month!

Dreeuntwintig is knocking at your door and with this record, we will open up the late summer season. We are proud to present Yeark, a young guy from the Land of the Rising Sun. Yeark, with his fresh Japanese sound, shows that the electronic dance culture in Japan compares to ours in many ways. On the A-side, a memorable, catchy tune called ‘Betazoid’ enters our mind with beams of joy.

How come? ‘Betazoids’ have evolved from an amphibian species which prefer a warm humid climate - no wonder with this sound! The B-side is dedicated to beautiful ‘Sheherazade’, with Yeark letting his emotions fly and trying to coze her with easy deephouse sounds... which he manages to do visibly and audibly well... Most notable for his productions on classic label Nervous & Greatstuff, Mike Vale makes a smashing debut on 1605 with “Rising Up”.

The original mix is a massive feel-good Tech House number, with all the ingredients that make up a quality, pumping track. Drawing inspiration from tough, funk-fuelled samples and disco snippets, Mike really hits home with this one.

On the remix, we have none other than the Piatto brothers, who have been holding their ground as a firm household Techno for quite a while now. As expected, they turn the juicy original into a rolling monster, completely reworking the track into a stomping frenzy.

The third Pig & Dan EP on Imperanza.... This release totally fixes with ambitions where Imperanza has to go. This is a huge package of 3 wonderful tunes. Feel the spirit of the Pig & Dan trademark sound.

With a seemingly never-ending conveyor belt of techno production talent coming out of Italy it is a credit to the creativity and hard work of Sasha Carassi that his work can be counted in the upper echelons of his compatriot producers with release on Drumcode, Harthouse, Weave Music, Terminal M, Sleaze Records, 8 Sided Dice as well as his own Phobiq label.

Hexagon sets the tone for this incendiary three-track EP with a muscular groove pumping up the energy. A solid kick and rolling percussion provide a solid base for waves of building energy to tease out a tense ambience.

Tom Hades remix takes the original template and squeezes it hard in the middle to create a more intense build with squealing sirens and rising keys; subtly changing the focus of the track for more peak time deployment.

Octagon sees Carassi roll out a deeper, more linear groove. Heavy on percussion and infused with pulsing melodic riffs, the track is arranged with plenty of space around the elements to bring out the power of the bass tones.

The dons of Italian Techno strike back with their third appearance on Spektre’s Respekt imprint.

Throwing a curveball with ‘Spirit’, the guys have taken a brief departure from their usual sound, to grace us with a monster groove and an almost tribalish workout reminiscent of early sounds, yet once more filtered through the prism of the future.

Sasha Carassi stays true to the vibe and delivers a heads-down stomper with a riff that takes the track straight through proper Techno territory.

To top off the EP, the boys whip out ‘Spectrum’, a quirky affair which definitely reminds us of the familiar Phunk Investigation sound. Featuring a simple loop that is so effective... we can dare call it a Techno worm.
