Argentinas Ronan Portela continues to enthrall us with his super-powerful tech-house bombs. Throughout 2009-10, tracks from his first Foundsound EP (Piumino EP, FOUND-21) as well as his remix of Barems track Heyday (FOUND-22) have been consistently played / charted by Richie Hawtin, Josh Wink, Barem, Martinez, D'Julz, Mathias Kaden, Format B, Tiefschwarz, Someone Else, and the list goes on and on. Cheronca EP is his second ep on Foundsound, and by far his strongest release to date featuring three tracks on vinyl, plus two digital bonus tracks.

Ronan Portela is hardly a newcomer. Earlier in the decade, he kept busy dishing out remixes and edits (simply as Ronan and with his group Cutlab) for esteemed house labels like Om Records, Defected, Swank, Harlem Tracks, and the list goes on. More recently, his tech-house sound evolved ingeniously to fit these modern times. They say life begins at 40 and that transition to a more ‘mature’ stage is now upon Lost My Dog Records. In the same year that the label celebrated their fifth birthday they now reach a landmark 40th release and call upon label co-founder Pete Dafeet who provides three brand new tracks, more than ably backed up by two remixes from the legendary Atjazz. Dafeet shows that, like Lost My Dog, his sound has matured over the last half decade with clear nods here to New York, Chicago and Detroit flavoured house, and influencers such as Kerri Chandler, Jay Tripwire and Tom Trago.

Pete Dafeet is now regarded as an established name in deep house circles. Releasing his first record aged 20, he has gained greater recognition as he has developed, working with leading labels such as Toolroom, Robsoul and Detour, and picking up international bookings on an increasingly frequent basis. In the summer of 2010 Pete was the DJ responsible for Lost My Dog’s fifth anniversary mix CD ‘5 Years & Still Looking’ which received rave reviews across the dance music press and was awarded Mixmag’s ‘Compilation Of The Month’ accolade.

The previous 12 months have also seen Pete tour the North West and East coasts of America (including the Miami WMC) visit Shanghai for the first time, play at Lost My Dog’s Sonar bash for the second year and reside at a string of new label parties in London at Egg (rated Mixmag’s #2 night in the country), The Brickhouse, Nomad and Anam.

The music career of Martin ‘Atjazz’ Iveson stretches back to 1996 when he released his debut work on his own Mantis Recordings. Over the past 15 years he has released dozens of original tracks, three albums and has remixed the likes of Bob Sinclar, Omar and Jazzanova, making him one of the most respected members of the UK house scene and earning him a reputation that probably renders this introduction totally redundant! Recent projects have seen him collaborate with Fred Everything and Robert Owens, as well as remixing Flash Atkins, Santos and DJ Le Roi. Mantis, which closed in 2009 has since been replaced by the Atjazz Record Company – a digital label which continually delivers music from the finest artists in the areas of deep and soulful house, nu disco and broken beat.

Affkt comes back to Suara after his track on Kitties Wanna Dance along Kid Bucle and his superb remix for "Beautiful Story" from Coyu & Edu Imbernon. His first Suara EP shows the two sides of Affkt in just one release. "Lost Key" is probably his most dancefloor hit ever. Its sexy and funky rhythm infects the groove and a vast energy raises to the climax of the track. Huge! "I Got It" is pure deep house with black roots. Funk and soul for warm nights.

This track was remixed by DJ Madskillz, Dutch old school producer, the right hand of 2000 And One in 100% Pure & Area Remote. Genuine Madskillz stylez. Groovy as hell. Hot dancefloor killer. Moodymanc (well know for his releases on 2020 Vision and Tsuba) takes "Lost Key" for doing a refined and stylish remix, warmer than the original but still funky.

The queen of dance land has a rich history of classics on her account. Even before she started working with the likes of Armin van Buuren, Tocadisco, Chris Reece and Serge Devant, she became known for the seductive voice behind 'Rapture'. The track has been ruling dancefloors since 2001, enrapturing millions of EDM-lovers. 9 years after its first release, three successful producers honour her majesty with a stunning 2011-fit remix-pack. 'Rapture' will rule the dance floors again and again.

Swedish producer Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii, proves he hasn't only got things down with his own productions, but also gets the crowd to move to his remixes. After claiming the biggest summer hit of 2010, 'Bromance', he's now claiming the dancefloor with his 'New Generation Mix' of 'Rapture'. Contagious, feel-good house mixes with playful trancy stabs, taking the roof off any club.

UK's finest and one of the most requested remixers amongst the trance producers, Gareth Emery, took on the challenge to give 'Rapture' that extra peak time punch. And succeeded. Letting Nadia's vocals ride his own characteristic sound, makes his remix of 'Rapture' a great blend of prog and trance, joining forces in a lush highlight of crowd-seduction.

French producer Tristan Garner took the honour of providing a true prog-house translation of the classic. A deep bass, rhythmic drum-works and spell-binding break make his 'Rapture' remix fit for any type of house set.

Nadia Ali presents "Diamond Edition", the last installment in her highly acclaimed Queen of Clubs Trilogy. Just in time for the holiday season, this album hosts a long list of global superstar DJ/Producers who have all laid their magical touch on Nadia Ali's lush vocals. The first two editions of the "Queen of Clubs" trilogy (Ruby & Onyx) preceding "Diamond Edition" were not only filled with chart toppers but have also been met with great critical success. Needing little (if any) introduction, ‘Fire Wire’ left a colossal footprint on the 2001 dance music landscape, going top 10 in the UK and announcing Cosmic Gate’s arrival as an international act. The fourth single to be taken from their ‘Back 2 The Future‘ album, ‘Fire Wire’ has been given a root and branch remix overhaul, spanning several different dance music disciplines. From the trance quarter Rank 1 and Cosmic Gate themselves have both gotten to grips with F.W., reworking it using tougher, leaner musical methodology than the original. 

On their Rank 1 remix, Benno de Goeij and Piet Bervoets have opted for a moody deep trance excursion. Complete with hissing industrial effects, mood-infused synths and a slow-cook build, it climaxes with a steel-tough synth pay-off. On their mix, Nic & Bossi throw the speakers a challenge with warping, quaking sub-bass and then propels it floor-bound with a discordant, arena-sized lead-line finisher! Opting for a more atmospheric take on ‘Fire Wire’, Wippenberg’s mix brings a more progressive vision to the track. 

Housing up the drums and chilling its bleeping main-line, he pans and shuttles it around the speakers, repeatedly peaking and dropping it using a cool, cavernous 303 line. Expanding ‘Fire Wire’s range was very much a part of the ‘Back 2 The Future‘ mission and playing no small part in that are DJ Delicious and production brotherhood , Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

The latter give the track a dramatic, thudding tech-elec workover whilst Delicious amps up the house angle with spring-loaded bass – turning Fire Wire into a fully fledged (and never previously envisioned!) party rump shaker. A track that has travelled the globe, not only through hundreds of radiostations, played out by DJ's or performed live by Sharon and Armin during the Armin Only - Imagine shows, but also sang along and danced to by millions of Armin fans. 'In & Out of Love' was one of the biggest tracks of 2008, and even received more than 72 million views for its official music video on YouTube.

2 years after its release, 'In & Out of Love' sees a new package of previously unreleased remixes. Legendary producer Chicane gave a warm dancefloor feel to the track, by chopping the vocals and giving it an extra soothing sound. LMC pushed the big room character, while Christian Davies stripped it down to an energetic, proggy track. Kenny Hayes Blue Sphere Mix aims for the tropically warm, Balearic uplifting trance sound, where UK duo Whelan & Di Scala went all-the-way on peak-time house with a sensitive touch.
