Chill Out,
Deep House,
House
On this the final 12 inch installment from dOP’s critically acclaimed debut album Greatest Hits, everyones favorite trio of merry pranksters bring their carnival cabaret to a dark and twisted end.
Opener No More Daddy sets menacing heavy handed piano against plunging rave up synth stabs as the back drop to the kind of twisted lyricism that only Jaw can deliver. Talk Show continues the proceedings with a sexed up puddin on the ritz alike lounge groover with clarinets and horns sweeping across the stereo field and the ghost of Art Blakey holding down the backbeat.
Continuing their tradition of enlisting only the creme de la crème of remixers, Innervisions darlings Âme turn in a late night epic take on No More Daddy filled with the slow burning tension only they are capable of. Slow jam U R closes the release in fine style with a slice of orchestral exotica perfectly crafted to takes its rightful place as the main theme in John Carpenters next Caribbean horror flick. Heres hoping the next album isnt too far away.

Deepgroove! Say no more. Ace. Honoured to have them aboard. VVWI have been fans a long time and Lee and Grayson are, as usual, chaps of distinction whose qualities precede them wheresoever they may tread. Their tread is firm and purposeful like the mighty tiger, as is this stonking groover. When announcing Deepgroove would be releasing with us, the office erupted into a small mexican wave and at least one person shouted "About bloody time!". They were swiftly dismissed for insubordination.
Rolling Techno that goes all weird... it couldn't be more VVWI if it tried. Which we feel it did. Our evil leader Tim Sheridan turns in what he does best. Live drumming loops and keyboards with persuasive grooves, somehow always managing to find melody in the mess and going well overboard on the orchestration for a head spinning sonic attempt at a kaleidoscope of the ears. His dub doesn't fuck about. All the drive of his other version but with all the frills removed for added dance bother.
New to VVWI are our latest young turks. Discovered at club institution Back to Basics, "The Gentlemen's Club" are an offshoot of the production duo of Craig West and Mundros formally known as Hotsand. We expect to hear a lot more of Gentlemen's Club and our office Ouija board predicts a tall dark future will enter their lives. They turn in the deepest creature in this fluid... and as we've always said... no fish swims too deep in our aquarium. Man the bell jar, put your backs into the air pumps and check the valves on your brass diving helmet...
We're going in... Officially voted by the office as our best release yet... for your kind consideration.

Techno
For the first release in 2011, Gregor Tresher and Break New Soil are happy to present two of the new faces in Swedish Techno: Patrick Siech & Per Hammar. Right after the success of his massive “Crude EP” on Adam Beyer´s famous Drumcode imprint, Patrick comes up with the title track “Dome” - and boy what a follow-up it is! Over ten minutes he keeps the tension high, teases us with the raw force of “Dome” over just a few little kick-drum pauses until the track goes through the roof in on hell of a break!
On the flip we have “Hot Mess”, another primetime weapon, and this one Patrick produced together with Per Hammar, who made a name for himself with releases on Great Stuff, Starlight and Kant over the last year, but it was especially his track “El Salvador” on Mija Recordings a few months ago that introduced Per to a bigger audience, causing quite a stir on dancefloors worldwide!
This is what we think Techno should sound like in 2011.

Andri - Up Lantis EP (HIGHGRADE089D)

Tech House
With his debut release on Highgrade, “Never End”, artist and producer Andri has already proven his sense for captivating rhythms and driving beats. It is no accident that the Swiss producer spent his childhood swinging the drumsticks and is now bringing his enthusiasm for those beats to the dancefloor. Andri is known well beyond the borders of his native Switzerland for his energetic and sweaty live performances, which always include new tracks for the floor.
With his live sets he aims to encourage more than just wiggling movement – he tries to incite the Party Freak, to inspire a “technoid mind state” where people want to dance like crazy, all night long! As he says himself: “The people on the dancefloor should be able to experience the story of my sets and completely forget themselves. ”But Andri is not attempting to be a hyper intellectual sound director, and while his sets and tracks are carefully composed, they also retain a sense of humour. This is the case with his new Highgrade release: “Up Lantis”.
The three tracks - “Up Lantis”, “Come to Me” and “Mr. Groove” skillfully play with original samples, crackling beats and sexy basslines. They develop a very unique field of tension, punctuated with a lot of fun filled Andri trademarks: This is the dictation of groove.

Sian vs. Psycatron - Vertigo Of The Modern (BEDDIGI07)

Techno
For those of you who remember Sian’s outstanding ‘Dreams Are Maps’ on Bedrock Digital last summer and Psycatron’s stunning remix of Mutant
Clan’s ‘Persuader’ on John Digweed’s ‘Structures’ album, you will no doubt be chomping at the bit to get your ears around the first must-have tag-team release of 2011. This is HOT!!!!!
Sian’s feverish style and raw sound brings real voodoo to the dancefloor and his trademark aesthetics are hard to match. Regarded as one of the most promising upcoming acts in the techno scene today, Sian is already touring the world, rocking heaving crowds and bringing his trademark experimental DJing style to the masses via multiple outputs of explosive techno, fx and loops, cut up and edited live. His tracks instantly catch the ears of everyone from John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Loco Dice, Steve Bug to Carl Cox, Secret Cinema, Hernan Cattaneo, Dubfire and have shown how a genre busting talent crosses over stylistic boundaries with ease. That is why he is so suited to the Bedrock label, with its forward-thinking music policy.
When you have interests ranging from entomology, cosmology and marine biology to psychoacoustics and the social impact of the rave generation, you tend to make unusual art. Born in Dublin, Ireland, raised gypsy style in southern Spain and constantly moving from city to city, Sian chose early to drop out of normal society, make music and DJ. Adhering more to the avant-garde way of life, he stands out as a little more bohemian than the average electronic artist, a rare, flamboyant and eccentric new talent, and one we would urge you to investigate further. Sian is a truly diverse and original talent.
Psycatron, aka Northern Irish duo Paul Hamill & Dave Oost Lievense, produce 21st century techno with tracks that combine relentless energy and groove with bundles of emotion and tension, to make for an all-encompassing sound that is perfect for those big arenas and club rooms. Their high profile productions are released on some of the worlds most respected labels, receiving props from some of the biggest names in the business and record sales flying high in theBeatportcharts. Fergie (Rekluse), Carl Craig (Planet E), Christian Smith (Tronic), Will Saul (Simple), legendary Belgian label R&S Records, have all featured stunning Psycatron tracks, so it seems fitting that they have now linked up with Bedrock.
As the list of Psycatron supporters continues to grow, it starts to read like a whos who of quality underground electronica with everyone from Ewan Pearson to Joris Voorn, DJ Hell, Dave Clarke and even Martin L Gore from Depeche Mode all getting on board.

Tracklist:
01. Psycatron, Sian - Vertigo Of The Modern (Original Mix) 7:47
02. Psycatron, Sian - Vertigo Of The Modern (Sian Elevator Mix) 6:14

The Advent vs. Industrialyzer - Abstrakt EP (1605055)

Techno
No introduction needed here. The Advent and Industrialyzer have been holding down the Techno fort for years, yet they continue to reinvent themselves. This first full EP for 1605 is no exception.
The title track is a dark but subliminal affair with dissonant sounds of a dark future riding on chugging beats. "Abstrakt" takes things up a notch, with frantic percussion and the familiar industrial vibe that the duo has accustomed us to.
Serious techno here folks, from a legendary team that keeps setting higher standards for the sound.

Marco Zenker & Dario Zenker - Harry Klein Records 003 (HK003)

Tech House,
Techno
Munich and sport: A holy alliance. Love and battle. Blood, sweat, tears, sperm. If the FC Bayern does not win the championship title all hell breaks lose in Munich City. First come, first serve. This dedication to sport also becomes quite apparent in Munichs townscape that only gets enriched with some avant-garde elements, when sport is providing the topic of public discourse.
Conjure up the impressive surface texture of the Olympic stadiums roof construction or maybe our rainbow coloured spaceship carrying the name Allianz-Arena. You have to look hard to find such kickabout-area-aesthetics anywhere. And of course: Bavaria and Olympia ... somehow they have always been funk soul sisters.
What unites both of them is the unconditional love for physical toughening and given that particularly rhythmical aerobics are rumoured to be reliving for body and soul the thought suggests itself to finally establish Techno as an Olympic competition discipline. For the Olympic winter games 2018 chances are at least good. For the sport-minded raver the good old 4/4 still seems the best of all possibilities to keep a check of his ideal weight. Weißwurst my ass!
Press Release Harry Klein Records #3
The number 3 on Harry Klein Records appears sportier than ever. After their tricky debut once again the fabulous Zenker boys hit the floor with a split EP that should satisfy the raving youth´s collective urges for body exercises to its fullest.
Marco Zenker - No Pressure
Marco on his part doesn´t splash out either or even think about playing the second fiddle to his older brother. With No Pressure he rather takes over the technoid part here. While from far the tremor of lightning and thunder flickers through the hissing of rain he provides an unbelievably crisp drum pattern that fizzles, clicks and bangs forcing your body to mount to an imaginary machine do get driven by the merciless dictum of the kick.
Dario Zenker - Just Sayin
Dario, who lately lead us into the dubby depths of coarse grained dubtechno-archaic surprises us with a genuine, oldschoolish Chicago-slammer from back in the days when there haven´t been any alternatives to the analogue idea . Accordingly rough and unpolished Just Sayin bounces over the floor with its striking bassline, drops cutting HiHats from out of its admirable old school vocal to finally sink back into the deepness of its synths turning on their own axial. We don´t remember Dario that classic but it fits him damn well.
Digital Bonus: Dario Zenker - Come On
Just like its predecessors Harry Klein´s 3 is accompanied by exquisite digital bonus material and it´s truly a pleasure to join Dario Zenker revisiting the Techno thing. Come On highlights how traditionally enrooted Dario´s approach has become. Hello there, Detroit!
The bassline gets all the time in the world to unfold while the synths and the slacking HiHat are creating a drive that has enough power to sweep along absolutely everything in its way.
Digital Bonus: Marco Zenker - Let Go
In the second bonus-track with the simple and distinct title Let Go Marco Zenker presents himself in the most reflected light. Concentrated and without any pretentious gesture the composition out of the introvert piece of the repetitive develops a unique style of concentrated contemplation without ever drifting off towards pseudo-spirituality. Instead off that Marco celebrates the elegance of dubby deepness carried by gentle gestures between dream and reality. Virtually, the perfect finale.

01. Dario Zenker - Come On (Original Mix) 7:17

The rare use of wheeling gul sounds in a house track coupled with the wintery charm of Suddenly Somethin' got my tail up straight away when I first heard it in Jozif’s RA mix. A glacial London and the insistent plod seemed fitting for this release and the rest of the package works its way through you like the spreading thaw of spring.
The title track takes the epic drama of his Wolf + Lamb release, elongating the groove to turn in a 6am bliss out. Assertive yet sensitive, the track cheekily steps on and off of the floor, sending trippy pulses across lush washes of melody while a fuzzy, cradle like bassline rocks back and forth. The drums are raw and organic, tough without being pounding while strings and woodblocks add to the cinematic feel. The track is widescreen like most things associated with Agoria, but its agility and dexterity is not hindered and Sunrise shifts its bulk with grace and pose.
The aforementioned Suddenly Somethin’ has a nostalgic edge, whether those without a coastal upbringing would agree is another point. My point is that the Seagull-like sounds show a daring imagination that counters the outright honesty in the melody, allowing for an emotional disco outpour without losing face.
Widescreen, emotional boxes have been ticked to pass the InFiné test, Natural Nature and Cathy’s Diamonds tick the more leftfield boxes that the label’s tastes spread to. Rolling house in the style Craig Richards would use to diffuse his floor while still spinning heads, the track has a dark energy that pushes the parameters of the package. Cathy’s Diamonds takes an orchestral approach with soaring strings and untreated drums. Vocal samples and uneasy melodies add to the intrigue and illustrate the level of detail and emotional variation across the EP, sending it off in accomplished style.
