One of the trance scene's true stalwarts, Mike Koglin has been pushing the sound forward ever since he burst onto the scene with his top 20-charting anthem “Silence” in 1998 - a cover of Depeche Mode’s 80’s synth-pop classic. Opening on a cool, choppy electro bassline, “Sunstar” builds up the intensity before leading into a serene but soaring breakdown layered with heavenly, wraithlike vocals, epic pads and “Sunstar”s instantly recognisable melody leads. Dropping unexpectedly back into electro nastiness for a clever curveball, “Sunstar” steadily shifts back into melodic magic for an uplifting finale.

Offering a more direct trance-energised remix is Euphonic’s Ronski Speed. Nudging up the bpm a few vital notches and adding some warping electrified synth lines, Ronski builds a ripping groove and leads into the familiar soaring melodies of the original with power and pace.
