Desolat is proudly based in Düsseldorf, and is therefore happy to announce this new release: a release full of music with a definite sense of place.

Eerie synthesiser pulses, funk-infused drums and languid guitar-scapes have been part of the musical topology of Düsseldorf since the early Seventies: and this particular release pays full tribute to that legacy, with Jagd Auf Den Hirsch (Hunt for the Stag) comprising an eerie piece of swampy lazer-forest rock. This sound is also a modern day staple of Düsseldorf's nightlife at the Salon des Amateurs, a small bar attached to the Kunsthalle art gallery that is an oasis of hypnotic disco nightmares. The Salon is where Der Räuber und der Prinz made their first live appearance in 2008 (when the original composition for Moogwalzer was debuted), and both members of the band frequently play there: Ralf Beck with his bodyrocking club act Unit 4 and Sebastian Lee Philipp as half of art-rock duo Noblesse Oblige.

Meanwhile two of the guests on this release Detlef Weinrich also known as Toulouse Lowtrax, contributing words about a ghostly maiden on Moogwalzer, and Thomas Klein contributing drums to Jagd auf den Hirsch are both original members of the quintessential Düsseldorf act Kreidler. Salon DJ resident Vladimir Ivkovic also had a hand in the creative clarion call for the Jagd auf den Hirsch ("Hunt for the Stag"). To complete the circle, Düsseldorf's new resident and Desolat mainstay Guti wrote his remix in the middle of the night in Buenos Aires, as a kind of letter to his new home-to-be.

There we have it: a true tribute to a city we love, with tracks for the dancefloor as well as moments of melancholic contemplation.

Two friends who have known each other for many years, who have often shared the same stage and recently enlightened our summer workshops at la Carrière, who trade deeply-felt lyrics and singing for singular and refined productions and who delivered InFiné´s finest electronic rhymes.

After “Silently”, Clara called Mimu again for “Deer & Fox”, the vocal pop wonder of “Polyamour”. This Fall InFiné has invited forward-thinking remixers to work on Clara´s stems for four new opportunities to play the track. Deep and introspective, the troublemakers of dOP have kept the classy original textures, slowed down cleverly the BPM to carrying Mimu’s voice into a bubble of euphoric bleeps. Pampered by Derrick May, Juan Atkins or Kevin Saunderson, Stacey Pullen offers the clubbers a one-way ticket into his time machine.

Right back at the heydays of the Detroit second generation. Terribly old school and consequently incredibly efficient on the floors. Widely praised for their recent intrusions on the very respected Karaoke Kalk label, Tolouse Low Trax on top having a profound liking puns, have turned “Deer & Fox” into a dizzying after party chorus, adding their own dark and hypnotic sound pallet. Offered as digital extension but no less essential to the package, Austrian producer Ritornell aka Richard Eigner brings celestial violins and heavenly piano for a shining and delicate rework, which could almost let you forget the original.

What a fantastic year we've had at Stereo Productions with our ten years history! and the best way for us to show you all the good stuff we deliver in this year is a "Best Of 2010" compilation. For the last few weeks, we've been working to decide which tracks from a carefully selected list should make it onto Stereo's final major compilation of the year, it was so hard & difficult. 

This year we've so many smashing releases, stunning tracks an incredible remixes that the selection almost turn into a mission: impossible!, but we can now exclusively show you the most wanted tracks from our tenth anniversary, 20 tracks to icing in the cake. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and see you again in 2011 with more and new stuff!

Continuing to supply us with hits from the Funk Farm, label boss Funkagenda introduces us to Dutch rising star Jordy Lishious. Jordy Lishious from Tilburg in Holland brings us his 'Radiator EP' full of warmth and flavour from the producer who's debut production in May 2006 was snapped up by the Big & Dirty label, peaking at No.3 in the Dutch Dance charts and then being licensed to Ministry Of Sound. His production quality is of the highest and has gained him releases on labels such as Flamingo.

Oliver Schleenvoigt is one of the two parts of the "Monoroom" duo, who should be well known by everybody. With his first solo EP on Ostwind Records, Oliver shows what he is capable of and makes a wonderful debut with his Kunstflug EP. A-side tracks "Gerissene Rolle" and "Zwirbelturm" are 2 driving tech house bombs with a lot of feelings, small delicacies and the right nip in terms of groove.

On the B-side, we will find David Labeij and Neurotron turning the tables, performing magic with 2 damn phat remixes. Both of them, with their very own style, make for the track "Zwirbelturm" be a fabulous joy and for the EP to become an even more smooth thing. Dutch fluffy tech meets Mecklenburg Neutron techno. A big thank you to the remixers and of course to Oli for this successful debut.

Art Bleek comes up with his next release on Night Drive Music. The French producer shows a 4 tracker lesson of deep art. Arthur Pochon (aka Art Bleek) started studying piano at age 6. He enrolled in the conservatory at age 9 to study saxophone and music theory. He graduated from the prestigious institution 12 years later. During his years of study, Arthur played in various musical ensembles, ranging from chamber groups to full orchestras.
