Manuel De La Mare & Marshall - Blackbird EP (1605044)

Italian duo Manuel De La Mare and Marshall have had a tremendous run as producers, globetrotting DJ's and label owners. They constantly find themselves on the forefront of exciting new sounds and vibes whether it's from the studio or the DJ booth. As such, we are very pleased to welcome them the 1605 family and present their debut EP on the label.

The guys have developed a very clinical and precise formula for making crisp, functional, club oriented techno tinged house music and that is exactly what they bring us on their "Blackbird EP". The package is comprised of "Blackbird" and also 2 individual mixes of "Hashish", showcasing the power and extent of their abilities as solo artists as well as a formidable tag team. Watch out!

Fritz Zander - For Your Love EP (SUOL020)

Fritz Zander, one half of the impeccable duo Zander VT decided to release his second ever solo EP on Suol.. On A1 we find “For Your Love", modern vocal house at its best. A loop driven track that rips apart every floor. Very tricky break parts and a massive sound already made this work for all of us … and then Fritz found these vocals that put the icing on the cake. This is a big one… B1 is occupied by “When The Lights Went Out". A wonderful slow groover showing us Fritz’ soft side. Based on a very nice piano-disco line this one is just the right track for early in the evening or early in the morning. Actually it works well at peak time too …. ok, got me - you can play it 24/7 and people gonna love you for it. Last but not least on the vinyl version of our 20st release we have “Lose Yourself” on B2.

Supported by: Soul Clap, Ray Okpara, Aeroplane, Lee Curtiss, Christian Prommer, Radio Slave, Seth Troxler, Craig Richards, Deetron, Sebo-K, Charles Webster, Ralph Lawson, Alex Picone, Ellen Allien, Nick Curly, Sascha Funke, Laurent Garnier and more...

Steve Rachmad - Mr. Ed (GDM015)

The Netherlands' Steve Rachmad is no stranger to Get Physical, having remixed MANDY vs Booka Shade's classic 'Body Language' under his Sterac Electronics guise back in 2006. The peerless purveyor of tough, grooving and emotionally powerful Motor City-influenced techno now returns to the fold with two tracks for Get Digital.

A hugely respected figure in dance music, Rachmad has been doing his thing since 1985, and its shows in the sheer craftmanship and effectiveness of his work. This is not a producer who wastes time messing around: his tracks are high-charged bombs, built for club detonation.

'ED up' maintains this explosive form, but it's not without subtlety: a fractured soul vocal and dubwise FX draw us in, aquaplaning off the beat before giving way to an effortlessly funked-up synth-bass riff that will captivate any dancefloor, any time. "I would do anything you say," says the voice, as if under the spell of the groove evolving around it. 'Strings of Dub' is a trackier, trancier affair - deep, muscular but dreamy techno, the latest offspring of the musical affinity that Detroit and Amsterdam have shared since the early 90s. Rachmad takes seemingly familiar elements and renders them anew; a true master at work.

Tom Budden - Fugazee (VM003)

For the 3rd Release on Variante Music we´ve been able to capture the well respected Tom Budden from Southampton.

At least since his very successful track, The Tree Dance and his latest Remix for Groove Armada, Tom needs no introduction.

"Fugazee" is his latest work, which will twitch your Body right from the beginning.

The edgy Beats and the analog feel of the Track will take you back to the good old days of early Drum Machines.

Additional Remixes come from Montreal based Maher Daniel and our buddies Tapesh & Maximiljan. Maher Daniel who´s been attracting attention with his latest Productions, like his current Track on Joris Voorn´s 'Rejected' label, is going from strength to strength at the moment. He delivers an intense Remix here.

At long last, label owners Tapesh & Maximiljan do themselves the honor of delivering a Remix each for Tom. Tapesh comes up with a funky Groove and some sneaky flutes that create a brand new vibe on Fugazee. Maximiljan´s interpretation is a bit darker and perky, but a warm steady bass leads you through the Remix.

Martin Eyerer & Sasse - Save My Life (MOOD093)

After their recent output on Monique Musique, Martin Eyerer and Sasse, 2 heavyweight producers, hit the studio together for a dubbed out tech workout.

Save My Life builds on a small vocal hook and a murder bassline, a perfect combination of Martins production techniques and the chugging deepness of Sasse. The original clocks in at 10.00 minutes of dubbed out groove, not far from where Mood 2 Swing might be if they ́ve kept true to the underground. The Bass Dub concentrates on the bass, keeping it churning for a perfect mix tool for the creative djs around.

Man-Of-The-Moment Martin Dawson turns out an elegant, yet jacking housier version of “Save My Life” which perfectly complements the raw characted of the original.
Moodmusic staple Phonogenic gives us 2 versions, The main Remix concentrating on the straight stabbing groove for a 6AM belter, perfect for the darker period we ́re entering. The Dub strolls nicely in house territory, never letting the energy down with added percussion and a jolted beat to make things sit nicely in a long dj-mix.

Elon - Encounters (RRY40)

The minimalist-oriented Berliner by choice with his roots in New York once again shows his talents besides playing the bass and the guitar. Pursuing his perfectionist approach he releases his first 12 on Rrygular! "Encounters" has got everything you need to have checked on an A-side's checklist: Catchiness from the very first beat, drive and suitablity with clubs! This Track is just pushing ahead, in a detailed and sophisticated way despite the rough sound. The intelligent use of the resonant wavelike pad in its different variantions gets the listener to discover all the different aspects of the groove. Subtle harmonics and bitcrushed effects in combination with playful percussion add a good portion of dirt to this production.

"Morph" is not made for the sensitive. The name implies it all: More and more sounds are layered and woven around each other to construct atmospheric floating snippets. Accompanied by wheezing, breathing and moaning the threatening overall impression is maximized. This bass focused track pushes and meanders through a forest of psychopathic horror synths and thunderous percussion. If you love negative vibes you will be pleasantly surprised!

Derek Plaslaiko - Xoxo Nyc (TPT039)

Fresh from remixing Ali Perc, Derek Plaslaiko releases his debut record on the label, and it's an impressive start. Plaslaiko has been around for a while and clearly has a deep knowledge of music. You can hear it on "Raw Jam," where he uses old school cowbells and claps as the basis for an unforgivingly dark bassline that's equal parts hardcore, bleep'n'bass and EBM. Maybe the final comparison is most fitting because, despite its intensity, "Raw Jam" isn't fast, but instead lumbers along, almost like a modern day interpretation of body music. "The Glass Bead Game" is less impressive: Here Plaslaiko deploys a strong, buzzing bassline, but it doesn't quite gel with the subtle, Detroit melodies that flicker in the background.

Perc have chosen their remixers wisely: Samuli Kemppi does a fine job of beefing up "Glass Bead." Using the kind of resonating vocals that featured on his recent Komisch EP with thundering claps, he gives the original the firepower it lacked. Meanwhile, Jonas Kopp takes on "Jam": upping the tempo and focusing on a straighter dance floor techno approach, the Argentinean takes the bass out of the foreground. Despite this, it remains a constant, simmering away in the background, and like Plaslaiko's own imminent recognition, ready to explode at any moment.

Support from: Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, Ben Klock, Peter Van Hoesen, Len Faki, Paul Woolford, Forward Strategy Group, Terence Fixmer, Donor/Truss, Heiko Laux, Commix, Sigha, Gary Beck, Dustin Zahn, Misc, Jesse Somfay, Ivan Smagghe, Sawf, Samuel L. Sessions and many, many more *

One of Perc Trax's biggest releases of the year. Two tracks from Detroit/New York/Berlin resident Derek Plaslaiko who debuted recently with his stunning remix of Perc's '1909'. Includes remixes from Jonas Kopp (Ostgut Ton/Spectral) and Samuli Kemppi (Ostgut Ton/Mote Evolver).
